Eve Character Bible Study Background and Lessons

Character Study Key Verse: Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved. 1 Corinthians 10:6

How she Died: We don’t how she died, but we do know that this death was the result of her sin in disobeying God. If she and Adam had not sinned, then death would have never entered the world.

Lessons from Her Life:

She wasn’t eagerly looking for Adam, trying to find her right match. She was created by God to complement and help him. Bringing them together was totally His work.

When she was created, she was not created from Adam’s foot, so he could walk on her, or from his skull so that she could lord it over him, but from his rib,  I she could walk by his side, next to his heart so he could love her, and beneath his arm so he could protect and care for her.

She was given the command to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth. That command has never been rescinded. Over population, one child policy, and “me time” are never mentioned in the Bible.

Her slide in to sin began when she listened to the serpent, looked at the forbidden object,  trusted the serpent and her own judgment more than God, doubted God’s goodness, and reached out to claim what she wanted.

Be very, very careful what advice you give, especially to your husband, when you marry. Eve’s advice influenced Adam to sin and precipitated the fall of man. Men will do things to please us that they know are wrong, or will use our fall as n excuse for themselves. Don’t lead others into sin.
