The question of whether or not to get into debt, is a serious question for many Christians. Godly Christians will come down on both sides of the fence and maybe even in the middle. Some think it is sin to have any form of debt. Others will say it is not advisable, but not sin. With a young family of my own, we have had to face the question of whether or not to get into debt, specifically when considering buying a house. Here are some of the verses on debt, money, and God’s provision that we considered. You can look at them one by one and to see directly what God says about debt in the Bible. All verses are ASV since it is in the public domain and legal to copy.
