On Paul’s second missionary journey, he visited Corinth and established the church there (Acts 18). Corinth was a prosperous trade hub on an isthmus of Greece which connects the Peloponnese peninsula with the mainland. It was also a decadent city. Corinth was home to the temple of Aphrodite, a Greek goddess of love. The city was extremely immoral to the point that being called a "Corinthian" took on the meaning of being an immoral person. Into this corrupt culture, Paul took the gospel. Many believed and a church started. Paul spent 18 months there before leaving. But the church struggled. Immorality and sin crept in. 1 Corinthians was written by Paul to rebuke the church. 2 Corinthians is a much friendlier and very personal letter. Paul defends his apostolic credentials and his personal love and care for the Corinthians as he continues to restore his relationship with them. He also details much of the suffering he faced for Christ and for them, motivating them to stand strong. Other important themes include giving, endurance in afflictions, rejecting false apostles, and holiness. This practical book study will give you a behind-the-scenes look at Paul and his motivations. We hope that the lessons learned can transform your life and your walk with the Lord.

Whether you are looking for a study guide to lead a small group Bible study or want to enrich your own understanding of Haggai, our Bible study guide of Haggai can help. The lessons inside are extremely practical and designed to encourage obedience and life transformation. The book of Haggai is short, containing only two chapters. However, it provides amazing behind the scenes insight into the events described in Ezra. The people had returned to the land of Israel after seventy years of captivity. When they returned they experienced a spiritual high, being enthusiastic to celebrate the prescribed biblical festivals and rebuild their city. Their first task was to rebuild the temple and they engaged on it energetically. But where God is working Satan is also often working. Enemies came to discourage the people from continuing the work. And they succumbed to the temptation. Work on the temple was stopped. But what were the people doing? How long did the work stop? What did they work on instead? What did God think of their decision to delay His house? You can find all of these answers and more in our study of Haggai. Haggai was a prophet from God sent specifically to rebuke the people and encourage them to return to the work God had prepared for them. Although these events happened over two thousand years ago, we can learn many practical lessons which still apply to our lives today. One of the key lessons you will discover as you study this book is to have the right priorities and put God first.

Daniel serves as an amazing example of how to live for God in the midst of a dark world and a pagan culture. If you think you find it hard to be a light for the Lord in your culture, Daniel likely found it harder. Far from home? Check. Exile? Check. Almost alone in a foreign land? Check. Trying to stand up to a powerful leader who has the power to kill you? Check. In spite of all of these challenges, Daniel managed to live a pristine life as a follower of God. The story of Daniel teaches us that we can serve God faithfully no matter what circumstances are around us. No one can control you or make you sin. No one can take away your faith no matter how hard they try. Daniel was surrounded by powerful kings and kingdoms. God gave him visions of many more mighty kingdoms to come. However, one theme clearly resonates through the book. Men and their kingdoms will rise and fall, but God's kingdom endures forever. The book of Daniel contains some of the most awesome and detailed prophecies recorded in Scripture. These prophecies describe apocalyptic events on a global scale. But as the life story of Daniel is woven through these awesome events, we are inspired to keep our feet on the ground, be faithful to build God's enduring kingdom, and live a transformed life as His servant. Don't miss this gripping study on the book of Daniel. We hope it will inspire you to shine the light of Christ by being a representative of His enduring kingdom.

Malachi is the book-end of the Old Testament. After this book was written, the people of Israel would not hear divine revelation from God for four hundred years. The people of Israel at the time of Malachi claimed to honor God. They were very religious. More than willing to offer sacrifices or visit the temple or sing praises to God, most people would have concluded that their relationship with God had never been better. Malachi was not one of those people. Through Malachi God condemned His people for their hard hearts and selfish ways. But though the people lived in an age when there were no cell phones or airplanes, the spiritual struggles that they faced are very similar to ours. Some of the key themes in this book include divorce, giving, rituals verses true faith, and more. Nowadays many church goers are caught in the same trap as the Israelites at that time. While many are very religious outwardly, sometimes the heart is not fully committed to God. Through this book we will learn the importance of giving God the glory He deserves.

The book of Titus is one of the pastoral letters Paul wrote to individuals who were involved in church planting and leadership development. Paul gives Titus direction on appointing elders, confronting false teachers, feeding the flock, and motivating believers to godly living. Paul challenges Titus to hold on firmly to the Word of God and never compromise with false teachers. The words of wisdom he shared with the younger Titus are still true for us in the post-modern world we live in today. This letter shows us what a healthy church looks like. Paul does not only focus on the leaders, but also on all ages of men and women. No matter what stage of your Christian life you are in, this book has something for you.

Philemon is one of Paul's most personal letters. Philemon had a slave who ran away to Rome, Onesimus. While in Rome he came in to contact with Paul and became a believer. The letter was sent by Paul to encourage Philemon in accepting and forgiving Onesimus upon his return. In this letter, we can observe the way Paul interacts with his friend. He does not offer correction in a vacuum. Rather, he uplifts Philemon in the ay he communicates with him. Paul says that Philemon "refreshed" the heart of the saints who came to his house. We can learn from the Paul the art of uplifting and gracious, but meaningful, conversation. The powerful themes of love, acceptance, and forgiveness can be seen throughout the letter. Christianity changes cultures from the bottom up by transforming one person at a time from the inside out. Philemon shows how the truth of Scripture influences our daily interactions and relationship with others. The practical lessons in Philemon can inspire you to improve your own relationships with those close to you and to forgive others as Christ has forgiven you.
